News and Events
Our main aim is to raise funds for the school to cover the cost of those little, and not so little, extras that the school budget cannot stretch to. We also act as a strong link between parents and the school.
Events:
We host many events through the year such as a summer fun day, children's discos, Dickensian evening, Christmas bazaar and various fun nights at school.
How we use the funds:
We sit with school council so we have an idea of what the children would like. We send around a wish list for teachers and we discuss with Mrs Thompson what the school would benefit with most. We also welcome any other suggestions.
We have funded or partly funded:
Harpist, Christmas books, Crèches, Techniquest Starlab, Nursery Playhouse, Centenary Garden, Centenary Gates, furniture and book boxes for a designated reading area in Year 2 and Year 1, child friendly digital cameras for all year groups.
A Log Circle
Maxi House.
Support:
Without the support of parents/guardians and the generosity of the local community, we would not have achieved the funds required for these extras that benefit the school, teachers, and most importantly the children, so a big 'thank you' for your support. Being part of the PA takes less time than you might think. We are always grateful for any help, support and ideas. Small contributions of time here and there add up to make a big difference to our success in raising funds for the school. Our meetings are few and informal, and it's great fun organising things which benefit our children directly. If you feel that you could help out with raffle prize donations, ideas for forthcoming/new events please do get in touch because we'd love to hear from you! Many hands make light work!
